  1. Anne Shirley! I love those books. I’m praying that you’re adventure will be much more relaxing this time around now that you have actual knowledge and experience, the people you meet are awesome, and for your hiking buddy (buddies)…

  2. I am amazed that you are trying it again. You are one strong “woman”! I think you plans this time sound really good. Experience is a great teacher. I will be anxiously awaiting your blogs whenever you post.

    1. I mostly used the Bruhner Protocol, but I also used some of Dr. Klinghardt’s ideas, too. A lot of people have been helped by both their herbal protocols. You have to really dig to find out info about Dr. Klinghardt’s, but the Bruhner Protocol an be found here:

Thank you, Melissa. I really appreciate your support and your enthusiasm for my hike!

  3. I feel blessed to follow you in this journey. Since reading your last blog and seeing ‘Wild’ I have often thought how awesome this must be. Since I can’t go with you physically, I will enjoy going with you through your blog. I will be praying for the Lord to send his righteousness before you.
Bud’s arrangement for your blog is beautiful. What a wonderful stand-up husband you’ve got!

    1. I appreciate your nice comments about Bud. I’m very proud of him, and I love the song he wrote, too. 🙂

I feel honored that you would want to follow my journey, and I so appreciate prayers. I covet them. I know it was prayers that held me up for as long as I was on the trail last time, and it makes me feel more confident knowing that so many people are praying for me.

      Thanks for your comment!

  4. I too wish I had more pictures of me. My son kept asking me for some, I had no idea he was putting my hike on his FB page and others wanted to see me. My hike ended so soon, now I wish I had more pictures of me.

One food item I saw lots of hikers eating were avacadoes. They peeled and ate them in camp and just carried the peels and pit out. I’m not sure if they are high in fats or calories, but they seemed to be a fav with others. Looking forward to your hike, I wish I was coming along.

  5. Yeah, so glad I was able to make the move to your new blog and that you are hiking the AT again this year. I am able to hike a LASH the entire month of April, beginning at Grayson Highlands and heading north. Not sure if our paths will cross, but glad we will both be hearing the siren call of the Trail & answering that call.

I love to read your comments!
