  1. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you sort through the trials that are being set before you. You are showing us your courage and wisdom as you move forward up the trail. You may not know the why’s now but may see them at a future time. Just trust your instincts. You will find your way.

  2. You are posting many more pictures in this hike, I love them. Keep them coming and good luck and continued health! By the way, my son and I did hike the section of the AT through the smokies a couple of weeks ago. I truly have new admiration for what you are doing now (I already did but it gave me a new perspective for sure) , it takes a lot of mental and physical fitness to endure the trail and the people. The people we met on the trail were of all flavors and I think as you have so nicely have stated before takes some unique people skills to navigate all the emotions that are the trail, and we were only out there for 6/7 days. Good luck! Keep on Trekking!

    1. How nice that you were able to hike with your son. What a wonderful memory you made. Actually, I appreciated the difficulty of the Smokies anew this year. I hadn’t remembered them being that hard! Thanks for your appreciation and understanding. Some things, you just can’t understand or appreciate unless you have been there. 💕 It is always nice to meet someone who has been there. I have had much better Wifi at the two hostels I have stayed at here in Damascus. It is usually a he WiFi that prevents me from uploading lots of pics. Hikers Inn had really fast Wifi. Woodchucks is not as fast, but still better than most!

  3. Kara, I so enjoy and look forward to your posts. Love the beautiful pictures, especially of the little towns you enter along the way. I so admire your physical and emotional strength to do this hike. Through you, I am on a journey I would otherwise never know about. Good luck and keep on keepin’ on!!
PS – I am a friend of Bud’s from our DPJH days.

    1. Thank you for your kind comment. Any friend of Bud’s is a friend of mine! DPJH was a pleasant
Time for Bud. He loved it there. I’m glad I can share my journey and happy that people are enjoying it!

  4. I’m so happy for the rain fly miracle! Bud is, indeed, the ultimate trail angel for you. I’m praying all is well and easily resolved with the doctor there in Damascus. Thank you for continuing to share with us. I love every post!

  5. My thoughts and prayers are with you, I hope your health problems are resolved soon!! I enjoy reading and seeing your posts, stunning photos!! I agree that Bud is your “Trail Angel,” maybe that could be his “name!!”
