This is a pitcher plant. It was hanging outside the grocery store in Salisbury. I had never seen nor heard of them before.
I have decided to head back into the woods tomorrow (unless I wake up feeling terrible.) I think I am feeling a bit better today. I will just take it slow and stop early if I need to. I’ll just take it one day at a time, and re-evaluate in a few days. I should also be getting the results of the Lyme test in a few days. It looks like she must have ordered more extensive bloodwork than just the Lyme test. That is a good thing in my book! I’m really impressed with the people who work at that hospital!
Please pray for my friend, Maria. I cry when I think of leaving her.
Pitcher plants eat bugs, don’t they? The not-from-Venus fly trap?

It’s been fun to imagine you in my home state! Sounds like you are having a variety of adventures. I’ve been in and out of the woods for almost 20 years here and haven’t gotten Lyme yet. Makes me wonder if some people are more likely to get it than other people. Two of my older kids have had diagnosed lyme and were treated as children. LOVE the pitcher plant. Hope you have a great day doing what you love!!

Hi Shanda! I have thought of you often since being in your state! I’ve met so many people from this area in the past week or so who have had it! I didn’t know that about your two eldest! I pray that you nor anyone else in your family get it! From what I understand, it can be serious if you don’t catch it early and start treating it.
